It is reported that at 22: 00 on the 17th, precipitation began to appear in Muli Town, with strong precipitation at night, which led to the continuous lowering of temperature and sleet weather. By 04: 00 on the 18th, it turned into snowfall, with a cumulative precipitation of 16.8 mm and a snow depth of 3.0 cm. As it is in the early summer season, the temperature is high, and the snow melts quickly. This snowfall weather process has no impact on traffic and livestock foraging, effectively increasing soil moisture and promoting the growth of pasture.

According to the news of "China Meteorologists", yesterday, the five western provinces, namely, western Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Ningxia, Qinghai and Tibet, suffered a very severe cooling. At 7 pm, Lanzhou has dropped to 13℃, which is more than 19℃ lower than the same period yesterday. This is a cold wave in winter; Qinghai and Qilian Mountains in Gansu Province also experienced rare heavy snow at this time, and the local temperature in Sunan of Zhangye dropped to -1℃.

This drastic cooling was caused by an unexpectedly intensified Mongolian cold vortex. However, it’s midsummer, and it’s dog days. It’s rare for a cold vortex to come forward and make cold air go deep south. It’s impossible to expect it to continue to hit the subtropical high. In fact, this cold vortex can only be managed for two days, and it can’t be managed in central and southern Zhejiang and Fujian, and Taiwan Province, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan and other places where the subtropical high headquarters is located.

By July 24th, with the Pacific subtropical high strengthening again, the strongest summer heat this year is about to begin, and the high temperature in the south may be extreme, and the north including the northeast may be sauna.
