This is not the first off-road vehicle of Great Wall Group, but it is the first attempt for WEY brand. Tank 300 was born in the "tank platform" and positioned as a compact professional off-road SUV.

Under the leadership of former Land Rover designer Phil Simmons, the styling design of the three brands Great Wall, Haval and WEY has undergone new changes. The exterior design of the tank 300 is very mature (the interior has not been officially exposed yet), and it has the tough lines that an off-road vehicle should have, and it exudes a strong retro flavor.
Although the size level is lower than Haval H9, the body design of Tank 300 is more suitable for off-road because it has higher chassis ground clearance and better approach angle, departure angle and wading depth.

A hard-core off-road vehicle cannot lack strong power, and sufficient power is the most basic guarantee for climbing steep slopes and muddy swamps. Tank 300 will introduce the combination of 2.0T engine +8AT gearbox in the early stage, and the powertrain of 3.0T engine +9AT gearbox will be added in the later stage.
The future 3.0T six-cylinder engine and vertical 9AT gearbox are even more exciting. Honeycomb Yichuang, a subsidiary of Great Wall Motor, will independently develop and manufacture this powerful powertrain. We know that there are very few six-cylinder engines mass-produced on China brand passenger cars; Due to the technical difficulty and cost limitation of AT gearboxes, the AT gearboxes used by domestic car companies are basically made by ZF or Aisin, and the "new work" of Honeycomb Yichuang is enough to be the pride of China brand cars.
Honeycomb Yichuang upgraded its flagship gearbox products to 9-speed (9DCT and 9AT products will be launched in the future). The first vertical 9AT gearbox in China is mounted on the tank 300, with the maximum torque capacity of 750N·m, the gear ratio span of 8.85 and the transmission efficiency of 92%.

Although the tank 300 has not yet reached the mass production state, it can be seen that it adopts the front double wishbone independent suspension and the rear integral bridge non-independent suspension. The official said that Tank 300 has part-time 4wd system, and the supplier Borg Warner provided it with key four-wheel drive technology. Not only can the central transfer case achieve 100% locking, but its front and rear axles are also equipped with Eaton electronically controlled differential locks (which can be locked manually). This electronically controlled mechanical differential lock can achieve locking within 200 milliseconds, and the response speed is very fast.
Even in professional off-road vehicles, there are few cars with "three locks" (Mercedes-Benz G class counts as one). Most conventional off-road vehicles are generally only equipped with a central differential lock (or part-time 4wd transfer case) and a rear axle differential lock, and the tank 300 has also added an Eaton-type electronically controlled differential lock to the front axle.
In addition, the tank 300 also has nine driving modes, and the all-terrain control system of two-wheel drive, four-wheel drive and low-speed four-wheel drive (standard, bumpy road, sediment, mountain, rock, etc.) can realize the "crawling mode". An "expert mode" is also prepared for off-road gods, which means that the body stability control system can be completely turned off, allowing more professional driving operations.
