Changan Yidong ET has a battery life of 405 kilometers, and the three exclusive platforms are not afraid of the post-subsidy era.

After the third innovation and entrepreneurship plan was officially launched in April last year, Changan Automobile carried out a "high-quality upgrade" product line layout. With the continuous improvement of the product matrix, in addition to the rebound of passenger car brand sales, its new energy products have also achieved quite good results. In the first quarter of this year, Changan New Energy sold 8,704 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of over 182%. In terms of volume, although this data is still far behind passenger cars, it is still very important for Changan New Energy, which has just been established for more than a year. But it means a lot.

The "Shangri-La" plan proposed in 2017 clearly stated that it is planned to complete the construction of three special platforms for new energy vehicles by 2020. The internal codes of these three platforms are EPA0, EPA1 and EPA2 respectively.

According to the respective positioning of these three platforms, EPA0 platform will plan to cover the mini-car market, and mainly build two hatchbacks and small hatchbacks, with a range of 2700- and a cruising range of 150-300 kilometers.

The EPA1 platform is mainly aimed at the compact market, private household and operation markets, and creates "high-quality, cost-effective" economic and practical shared models, covering mid-to high-end models with "full car experience and driving entertainment" as the selling point. It is a private car with a length range of 4,400-and a cruising range of 400-600 kilometers. Through this platform, four product categories will be designed: compact crossover car, compact crossover SUV, compact SUV and compact MPV.

EPA2 aims at higher-level vehicles, covering medium-sized and above levels, creating private exclusive partners, focusing on quality experience and pursuing brand promotion. Its products are mainly medium-sized crossover cars, medium-sized cars, high-performance crossover SUVs and A-type medium-sized MPVs. The vehicle length ranges from 4,650 kilometers and the cruising range ranges from 400 kilometers to 600 kilometers.

In the future, on these three new vehicle platforms, pure electric vehicles with new meanings will be launched, which will take the lead in realizing 100% automatic iterative upgrade of voice control and vehicle control software, and the automatic driving function will reach L3 level. The power consumption per 100 kilometers is as low as 8kWh under NEDC working condition, and as low as 6kWh under constant speed working condition. It can last for 100 kilometers after charging for 5 minutes. By 2025, a total of 20 new products will be launched, and L4 will be commercialized first.

Up to now, Changan New Energy has launched five new energy vehicles, namely Yidong EV460, Yidong PHEV, New Benben EV360, New Benben EV260 and CS15 EV400. It can be said that from entry-level running, to small SUVs, to compact cars, compact SUVs and PHEV products, the product range is complete.

At this year’s Shanghai Auto Show, Changan New Energy brought another new product-Yidong ET based on Yidong XT. This is not only the first pure electric hatchback of Changan New Energy, but also the first pure electric hatchback coupe on the market, which will be listed on May 11th. The official claims that NEDC has a comprehensive cruising range of 405km, and it takes about 35 minutes to quickly charge the battery from 20% to 80%.

The exterior adopts Chang ‘an family design style. As a new energy vehicle, its closed front air intake grille has new energy attributes. In addition, the details of the new car have been adjusted, including the use of chrome-plated decorative strips for embellishment to increase the exquisiteness and design of the new car.

The interior layout adopts penetrating design, equipped with 10-inch central control panel, built-in call 3.0 car interconnection system and Huawei 4G network module, which can realize mobile phone interconnection and provide driving assistance, life service, entertainment information, road rescue and other functions.

In terms of power, it is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor, with a maximum power of 100kW and a peak torque of 245 N m. The new car is equipped with a ternary lithium battery pack with an energy density of 141Wh/kg. The official NEDC has a cruising range of 405km and a power consumption of 13.8kWh per 100 km. Energy consumption performance in the same class of cars is still very good.

On the one hand, the state announced on March 26th that it would reduce subsidies for new energy vehicles. On the other hand, a large number of new energy products from traditional car companies and new car-making forces are on the market. This has brought a lot of pressure to Chang ‘an New Energy. However, with the launch of these new platforms, the ability of product cost control and brand premium will be gradually enhanced. Even in this wave, Chang ‘an New Energy can achieve self-adjustment and calmly cope with the market.
